Kimberley Read
Founder and Creative Director


Kimberley graduated from North London Dance Studio in 2002 with a Performing Arts Diploma, she then went on to perform with well known pop group Busted and worked with choreographers Andrew Resurrection and Javier Velasco. Kimberley also performed in shows at Disneyland Paris and many touring shows throughout Europe.


In 2006 Kimberley formed the company‘2Groove’ Dance & Fitness, to encourage children to have fun and keep fit through dance. Apart from establishing her classes in a number of schools across hampshire, she has choreographed and produced ‘Headliners’, for ‘The Daily Echo’s’ 120th Birthday and also organised and choreographed at some of the largest venues in the south, for national clients such as New Look, Coast, Primark, Next, Zara, Gap and River Island. Her show team ‘Urban Groovez’ currently perform at events across the region, including local film premiers for ‘Disney.’ She has also choreographed and starred in a number of corporate events including ‘Come Strictly Dancing’, for The De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel, Southampton.

Kimberley is an associate Street Dance and Hip Hop teacher with the NATD and a qualified fitness instructor with YMCA and has extensive training including Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Zumba Kids and Zumba Kids Jr, Street Fit, Core Stability, Dance Choreography, Power Sculpt, Cardio Kick, Hula Hooping and X Biking, she is also a member of the BDAF.


In 2011 Kimberley opened The Diva Academy Arts and is delighted with the success of the school so far.


Kimberley continues to support local children’s charities in her spare time, running in a number of 10k races, three times completing the Great South Run, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for Wessex teenage cancer and in 2011-2013 taking the Zumba warm up for Race for Life in Winchester and Southampton and warming up the brand new Twilight event for Cancer Research.

Emma started dancing at the age of 3 years progressing to Advanced with the ISTD in Ballet, Tap and Modern. As a child she had various successes within the All England Dance competition dancing in both the Regional and National Finals. More recently Emma has worked as an adjudicator in London for the Charlotte Leatherbarrow Foundation scholarships and worked as a supporting artist in the film The World's End with Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman and Pierce Brosnan.


Emma is a qualified associate dance teacher with the NATD and gained a Higher Certificate in Contemporary Vocal Teaching with VIDLA. Emma has prepared pupils to successfully audition for touring musicals and greatly enjoys teaching for various dance studios across the South Coast helping pupils to reach their full potential.

Katrina trained at The Arts Educational Schools, London, full-time from the age of 13, specialising in Drama, and subsequently studied Musical Theatre at The BRIT School. She then went on to gain her BMus in Music at Goldsmiths College, London, and MMus in Composition at the University of Southampton.

She has taught Singing / Musical Theatre / Drama in Southampton and around the South for the past 7 years, through which she has built up her experience in and passion for teaching children and young people. Katrina also works as a freelance singer / songwriter, and in July 2014 released her first EP, 'Sunny Day'.

After a very long break, Graham has been back working in Performing Arts for 7 years. He works regularly in Interactive Theatre, Performing over 50 shows a year and has featured in leading roles in 13 Feature Films.

He has also made over 100 short films and Corporate Training Videos. Graham starred in the biggest Music Video of 2014, 'Flute' by New World Sound, which had over 7 million hits on You Tube in one year. In his spare time he also hosts Corporate Team Building events, and if you can keep a secret, he is also the real Father Christmas, but don't tell anyone!

Away from Drama,Graham is a qualified swimming teacher and has swam competitively for City of Southampton Swimming Club, and competed for Great Britain at World and European Championships.
Yasmin has been training in various styles of dance from the age of 7, including tap, modern, street dance, contemporary and ballet. She graduated from the University of Chichester with a BA Hons degree in dance where she gained extensive experience in choreography and improvisation and is now currently working towards her PGCE. Yasmin has worked with many professional dancers in London and was also a part of the company A-Team, run by the Animaineax.
In her spare time, she enjoys teaching after school clubs and working with various students, who enjoy dance as much as she does.

Claire-Louise graduated from Performers College in 2009 with a Diploma in Musical Theatre and Dance Theatre.

She then went on to work in various countries as a Cabaret Singer and toured Ireland playing Cinderella before joining P&O cruises as a Dancer/Singer on the North Sea.


Claire-Louise is still performing with The Glad Rag Production Company but is also very pleased to be joining The Diva Academy as a singing coach this summer.


Claire-Louise has her DDI in Modern Theatre Dance and is currently studying DDE in Modern Theatre Dance and Classical Ballet. She has worked with many other dance schools and academies in London and Hampshire and enjoys coaching young performers with a great passion for the industry.
